About StrataDex
Building a competitive team for Pokémon Champions used to mean hours on forum threads, cross-referencing damage calcs, memorising speed tiers, and hoping your guesses held up at the tournament. StrataDex exists to collapse that work into minutes — without hiding what's actually happening under the hood.
Competitive Pokémon has a steep onboarding curve. The meta shifts weekly. The language (EVs, IVs, natures, speed tiers, priority brackets) is cryptic. Tournament-winning builds are buried across Twitter threads, tournament VODs, and forum posts you didn't know existed. The result? Most players who want to step up from casual into VGC bounce off before they ever play a real game.
We think that's fixable. StrataDex surfaces what's actually winning right now, breaks down why it works, and turns hours of research into minutes — so you spend your time playing and improving, not grinding spreadsheets.
Pokémon Champions launched in April 2026 with a brand new competitive format — and for the first time in years, the meta is genuinely wide open. That's an incredible moment for new players to break in, but also when the information gap hurts most: everyone is figuring things out in parallel, and finding signal in the noise is hard.
We're building the tool we wish existed when we started playing VGC. Fast. Data-driven. Opinionated when it helps, transparent when it doesn't. If you've ever stared at a team sheet and thought "I don't know what to change," that's what StrataDex is here to answer.
If a feature requires you to already know competitive Pokémon to use it, we've failed. Every piece of jargon should be explainable in one hover.
We don't hand-pick tier lists based on who we think is good. The tier formula combines live ladder usage, tournament win rates, and top-team appearances — and the formula is public.
StrataDex is in beta. Features land based on community feedback, often within hours. The meta changes — we change with it.
Deep Dives are designed to save you hours of research. Every output is actionable — specific moves, specific items, specific leads — not generic advice you already knew.
StrataDex is built and maintained by a small team of VGC players and software engineers who spent too many hours of their own lives on the old workflow. We're not affiliated with Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, or Game Freak. We're fans who wanted better tools. The site runs as an independent project. Subscriptions cover site costs and building more features.
Feedback, bug reports, feature requests, tournament stories — we read all of it. The fastest way to reach us is the contact form, or email stratadex@gmail.com directly.
